Wayne H. Zemelka, D.C.
Dr. Wayne Henry Zemelka is a 1975 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic and is Certified in Video Motion X-ray (videofluoroscopy) and the Thompson Technique. He studied under Dr. Vern Pierce to learn about videofluoroscopy and received his certification from Palmer College. He also studied under the tutelage of Dr. J. Clay Thompson for the Thompson Technique.
Dr. Zemelka is retired from full-time teaching at Palmer College, and operates the Zemelka Family Chiropractic Center in Davenport, Iowa. For the past 12 years he has been teaching the Thompson Technique at seminars throughout the United States with the Foot Levelers teaching team. He also teaches the Thompson Elective Course each trimester at Palmer College of Chiropractic at the Davenport Campus.
Dr. Zemelka's background also includes extensive experience in Radio & Television production and has served him well in developing the finest DVDs, part I & Part II of the Thompson Technique. He leads a production team under the auspices of Van Go Video Productions.
Most recently, for the past year Dr. Zemelka was the President of the Iowa Chiropractic Society and is serving as the Immediate Past President at the present time.
It was Dr. Zemelka who initiated the Medicare Survey in the Scott County, Iowa area, to be able to analyze the patient satisfaction involved in the Medicare Demonstration project. Early in the survey the Study team found some errors in the number of practicing chiropractors that could skew the results of the CMS study, and CMS did make the necessary corrections. The Patient Satisfaction Study done by the Chiropractic Team demonstrates the choice by Medicare patients favors chiropractic. The satisfaction with chiropractic care is rated by the patients at 100 per cent.
Kevin J. Wapelhorst, D.C.
Dr. Kevin Wapelhorst is a 1998 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, and he lives and practices in Davenport. He has practiced in Iowa since 2000, also having practiced in Kentucky and Kansas.
Dr. Wapelhorst utilizes the Lloyd 900 HS segmental drop table in his primarily Thompson Technique practice. He also utilitzes the Diversified Technique, the Impulse Adjusting Instrument, and the Precision Adjuster (Pierce Adjusting Instrument) as well. He adjusts everything from the pelvic region up through the spine, ribs, and extremities (ankles, feet, knees, elbows, hands, etc.), along with giving personal instruction on exercises and home/work ergonomics.
Dr. Wapelhorst has a family-oriented practice, taking care of newborns/infants up through and including the elderly population. He has helped Dr. Wayne Zemelka in further developing Segmental Drop Adjusting procedures which includes teaching the Thompson Technique Elective course through Palmer College, Iowa, as well as consulting on his updated Segmental Drop Adjusting/Thompson Manual and Videos/DVDs. He has written several articles that are ready to be published in chiropractic journals, and looks forward to taking over the reigns in lecturing when Dr. Zemelka decides to retire. Dr. Wapelhorst also teaches part-time in the Adjusting Technique Department at Palmer College of Chiropractic (Iowa Campus).
