What To Expect On Your First Visit

Most people begin chiropractic care with pain relief as the primary goal, and in some cases may also choose to participate in a course of care for rehabilitation. For others, wellness care is an important part of staying healthy and maintaining the results achieved. Regardless of the care you seek, it is our hope that together we can identify your health needs and provide care that is appropriate for your problem. The goal is to solving your initial problem and moving you into a feeling of exuberance and well being if possible.

On your first visit you will will be given a few forms to fill out. There is a series of questions that will cover your health history and that of your immediate family. It's important that you take the time to answer the questions to the best detail possible. Be sure to mark the parts of the body where you feel discomfort and/or pain and describe in detail what you feel is happening to you at this time.

After you complete the forms, Dr. Zemelka or Dr. Wapelhorst will review the information and discuss the finer points of your health condition. An examination will be conducted, looking at the various areas of concern for your problem. The doctor will discuss the findings, explain the concerns and the best approach to take in the resolution of your problem.

In the event that the Doctor feels that additional testing, x-rays or examination are necessary, he will discuss this with you. When all of the aspects of the examination have been accomplished, you will be given the opportunity to move on to being adjusted on the segmental drop table for your chiropractic care and begin your journey to good health, naturally!

Dr. Zemelka and Dr. Wapelhorst are experienced and teach a "Low Force" form of adjustment on a Segmental Drop Table. They follow a series of techniques that are designed to effect a neurological and muscular release to help restore the integrity of the body.

In addition, there will more than likely be a series of exercises recommended for your specific problems, in order to restore muscle tone, and to maintain the integrity of your body as care is progressing at Zemelka Family Chiropractic Clinic.
